Explosive

An explosive is a substance or thing containing a substance, manufactured or used with a view to produce -
- - a practical effect by explosion; or
- - pyrotechnic effect; and
- - a substance or thing declared under a regulation to be an explosive.
Examples of explosives - Ammunition, detonators, gunpowder, nitro glycerine, pyrotechnics (including fireworks). An explosive substance is one in which when the chemical reaction begins it continues until all the reactants are used up that is assuming not extraordinary intervention from outside.
